For over two decades, Encore Performing Arts has been a cornerstone of creative expression and philanthropy in Central Florida, supporting local charities that make Central Florida a better place to live. Encore has a rich tradition of showcasing the dynamic talent of our community through high-quality musical and theatrical productions, driven by a dedicated team of over 300 volunteers. Open Full-Time Volunteer Positions

We are currently seeking a Secretary to serve on Encore Performing Arts’ Board of Directors. The Secretary is responsible for ensuring accurate documentation of Board activities, maintaining organizational records, and facilitating effective communication within the Board. The Secretary will also make arrangements for all Board meetings while recording votes and minutes of all proceedings. In addition, the Secretary will serve on the Board of Directors as a voting member. The time commitment will vary throughout the year, but availability for recurring Board meetings is expected, as well as timely follow-up when necessary. The Secretary position is a 2-year term with the option to extend for a second term. 

Please note: Encore Performing Arts is a non-profit, volunteer-based organization, and all positions are volunteer only. There are no physical office locations and most of the work will be done virtually/remotely.**

 

QUALIFICATIONS: 

  • Commitment to the mission, vision, and values of Encore Performing Arts

  • Strong organizational and written communication skills 

  • Ability to manage sensitive information with confidentiality 

  • Demonstrated ability to support collaborative decision-making and board engagement 

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: 

  • Previous experience with nonprofit governance or board service 

  • Working knowledge of nonprofit compliance requirements 

  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite
