  • We are currently seeking a Production Stage Manager to join our Encore Youth Programs Production Team. 

    The Production Stage Manager (PSM) is responsible for supporting technical design and managing show calls during concerts. The PSM serves as the technical liaison between Encore Youth Programs teams and concert venues. This role reports to the Production Manager.

    This commitment will last from July 2025 – May 2026. Regular meetings and rehearsal attendance will be required throughout the ensemble season.

    Please Note: Encore is a nonprofit, volunteer-based organization, and all positions are volunteer only.

    BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

    • Strong leadership and collaborative skills

    • Communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing

    • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail

    • Able to multi-task and quickly adapt to changes in a fast-paced environment

    • Comfortable calling a live entertainment production (Stage Manager)

    PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

    • Previous involvement in live instrumental performance

    • Previous experience with youth programs and/or instrumental ensembles

    • Familiarity with Microsoft Office

  • We are currently seeking a Assistant Stage Manager to join our Encore Youth Programs Production Team. 

    The Assistant Stage Manager (ASM) provides support to the Production Stage Manager during show planning and during actual concert performances. This role reports to the Production Stage Manager.

    This commitment will last from July 2025 – May 2026. Regular meetings and rehearsal attendance will be required throughout the ensemble season.

  • We are currently seeking a Production Coordinator to join our Encore Youth Programs Production Team. 

    The Production Coordinator (PC) is responsible for providing strong administrative support through organizing meetings, recording meeting notes, and managing backend logistics. The PC serves as the main liaison between Director and Encore Youth Programs teams during rehearsals. Responsible for managing logistics on rehearsal days including but not limited to chair/stand set-up, student check-in, and overseeing Production Assistants. This role reports to the Production Manager.

    This commitment will last from July 2025 – May 2026. Regular meetings and rehearsal attendance will be required throughout the ensemble season.

Audition Information - La Cage aux Folles

Encore Performing Arts is excited to present our next production, La Cage aux Folles! Performances will be September 19-21, 2025 in the Alexis & Jim Pugh Theater at Dr. Phillips Center for the Performing Arts.

Encore Performing Arts is currently seeking a cast of story-driven performers who are comfortable walking/dancing (or learning how to walk/dance) in heels; strong movers and dancers, and ready to dress in drag.

Principal & Ensemble Audition Requirements:

For the best user experience, we suggest submitting your audition via a non-mobile device.

Vocal Video Submission: Please submit a video of you singing 32 bars of a musical theater selection suitable for the show. Songs from the show are not encouraged.

Dance/Special Skills Video Submission (Optional): If you have a dance reel, tap reel, and/or have a special skill, please include a video link showcasing your reel/skill(s). You may be asked to demonstrate your dance abilities and/or skill(s) at callbacks, if desired.

Our cast of La Cage aux Folles hopes to be a celebration of diversity in body type, race, gender, age, etc. We encourage actors to submit for any of the listed tracks regardless of gender/gender expression. All Principal and Ensemble audition submissions are due by Sunday, June 22, 2025 @ 11:59pm ET

Encore Performing Arts prioritizes diverse and intentional casting, and we encourage applicants to explore non-traditional roles. We encourage performers of all ethnicities, abilities, gender identities/expressions, and all body types to audition.

Important Information: To be considered for a Principal or Ensemble role, you must first submit a virtual audition. In-person callbacks will be held by invitation on the evening of July 11, 2025. We hope to send out callback invitations by the end of June, though the exact date depends on the number of audition submissions we receive.

Rehearsals: Rehearsals for Principal and Ensemble roles will begin late July and go through the final dress rehearsal on September 18, 2025. Regular rehearsals will be held three nights a week (Thursdays through Saturdays) until we get closer to the show dates. Please indicate any availability conflicts in your submission form, and we will do our best to schedule accordingly. 

Show Dates: September 19-21, 2025

All performers must be local to Central Florida and have Central Florida housing. No housing will be provided for this production.

All participants must be 18+ by July 21, 2025 to be considered for casting. If you turn 18 before September 18, please reach out to the auditions coordinator at auditions@encorecentral.org.

This production of La Cage aux Folles does not have a choir component, and we will not be auditioning for choir positions.
